Sonni Sabahi
PRINCIPAL
Sonni Sabahi is the Principal of ICM Capital Markets, where he directs the firm’s strategy in whole loan acquisitions, private credit, and structured lending. With more than 20 years of experience across mortgage banking, distressed asset trading, and capital markets, he has built ICM into a trusted counterparty for institutional investors, banks, and private lenders. Throughout his career, Sonni has overseen billions in loan trades and held senior roles at Fasthold Capital and iCapital Direct, where he specialized in distressed debt acquisitions, mortgage portfolio management, and structured finance. He is recognized for his ability to combine disciplined credit analysis with creativity in structuring complex transactions. At ICM, Sonni has spearheaded the integration of technology and data-driven underwriting, creating a platform that streamlines execution for both borrowers and investors. His vision extends beyond traditional lending, as ICM has also expanded into energy and healthcare investments under his leadership. Beyond capital markets, Sonni is an avid sailor, often undertaking long passages that demand the same discipline, foresight, and risk management he applies to financial markets. Sonni is known for building lasting partnerships and leading with knowledge, creativity, and precision — always focused on creating value in every trade.
Joe Sedeno
Head of Loan Servicing & Asset Disposition
Joe brings extensive experience in loan servicing, loss mitigation, and portfolio management, with a career anchored at FCI Lender Services, one of the nation’s largest independent loan servicers. At FCI, Joe managed the servicing of residential and commercial portfolios on behalf of banks, private lenders, and institutional investors, gaining expertise in payment processing, borrower outreach, modification strategies, and compliance oversight. His background spans every phase of the servicing lifecycle — from performing loan administration through to non-performing asset resolution and collateral disposition. Joe has successfully overseen the liquidation of distressed portfolios, structured workout plans, and coordinated REO sales to maximize recoveries for investors. At ICM, Joe leads all servicing and asset disposition functions, ensuring seamless borrower communication, disciplined compliance, and timely resolution of both performing and non-performing assets. His operational leadership provides the firm and its investors with institutional-grade servicing oversight and optimized asset recoveries.
Clay Baldwin
Head of Sales & Trading
Clay Baldwin brings over 20 years of experience in whole loan sales and trading, with a proven track record of structuring and executing transactions across residential, commercial, and non-performing loan portfolios. Throughout his career, he has built deep relationships with banks, private lenders, and institutional investors, facilitating billions in loan acquisitions and dispositions. Known for his ability to price complex assets, manage investor relationships, and deliver liquidity across market cycles, Clay provides ICM with leadership in deal flow generation and trade execution. His expertise spans performing, non-performing, and re-performing loan pools, giving him the versatility to navigate every corner of the secondary mortgage market. Outside of capital markets, Clay is also recognized as a World Champion Skeet Shooter, a testament to his discipline, precision, and competitive drive — qualities that mirror his approach to trading. At ICM, Clay leads the firm’s sales and trading platform, ensuring investors and counterparties receive institutional-level execution and access to opportunities across the loan spectrum.
Brian Safian
Head of Trade Support / Operations
Brian Safian brings over two decades of experience in residential and commercial whole loan trading, operations, and execution. As Managing Partner of Preferred Asset Management, LLC, he has overseen the facilitation of commercial and residential bulk asset trades nationwide, including EBOs, MSRs, and bank portfolio transactions. Earlier in his career, Brian held senior roles in mortgage origination and lending, serving as a Senior Loan Officer with Preferred Lending Solutions and a Senior Loan Executive with Greenfield Mortgage. This foundation gave him a deep understanding of credit, loan structuring, and client execution, which he has leveraged in leading back-end trade support and operational management. Brian is recognized for his ability to manage complex trade settlements, streamline operational processes, and ensure institutional-level accuracy across loan portfolios. His client network includes institutional sellers, private buyers, and banking partners, positioning him as a trusted conduit in the secondary markets. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Business Management from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business.
Dion Depaoli
Head of Risk Management & Senior Analyst
Dion DePaoli leads credit and portfolio risk at ICM while also serving as a Senior Analyst, combining frontline underwriting with strategic oversight. He brings over a decade of experience in real estate brokerage, asset management, and mortgage operations, having managed Altus Realty Group and previously served as CEO of Secure Debt Exchange Systems. Dion’s background in commercial and investment property transactions, coupled with his expertise in loan analytics and risk evaluation, allows him to bridge detailed transaction analysis with portfolio-level risk management. His dual role ensures both precision in underwriting and discipline in long-term credit strategy for ICM’s capital markets platform.
Ron Hacker
Principal — Legal & Collections
A seasoned debt and asset recovery specialist, Ron Hacker brings decades of experience in credit enforcement, judgment acquisition, and lien management to ICM. Based in Los Angeles, Ron oversees the firm’s legal, collections, and portfolio recovery operations, ensuring that every asset is handled with precision, compliance, and strategic insight.
A proud UCLA alumnus, Ron began his career in debt collection and judgment enforcement, where he built a reputation for his ability to navigate complex recoveries and maximize returns across both commercial and private portfolios. Over time, he expanded his focus to include buying judgments, second liens, and distressed debt, structuring transactions that unlock value for both investors and asset holders.
Beyond his professional expertise, Ron plays a unique role in mentoring professional athletes and high-net-worth individuals — helping them deploy their capital intelligently through real estate investments, private lending, and alternative credit opportunities. His deep network, integrity, and results-driven approach have earned him the trust of clients across finance, sports, and entertainment.
